WILLETT
Ian Willett in Australia has provided a number of photographs of his ancestors which link the Willetts of Toft to the Cawley, Ford, Brighouse and Leech famileies. George Edward Willett born in 1872 came to Mobberley (Owen House Farm) and appears in a number of familiar photographs such as the Bowling Club and Cricket Teams. He had a builder's yard in Spout Lane. He married Alice Cawley in 1898. Sadly she died having given birth to a son, Richard, in 1899. Incidentally Alice's father Joseph Cawley died in Germany and was probably one of the men who went there to show the Germans how to install the equipment from the mill dismantled in Mobberley.
Richard Willett married Hilda Mary Leech of Gleave House Farm George Edward Willett married (again) in 1910 Catherine May Ford of Tabley. Their daughter Rita married Lesley Tench Brighouse and their three sons Anthony,Brian and Peter are well known locally Below is a link to a document put together by Ian Willett in Australia |
