There are two Consterdine brothers on the War Memorial/Roll of Honour in Mobberley. They were the children of Sarah and John Consterdine. John died shortly afte the children were born and Sarah remarried her lodger, William Gibbons, a retired police officer and they moved to Mobberley before 1911.
Their son Joseph was a private with the 4th Battalion Grenadier Guards when he was killed in 1916 at Thiepval. His brother George also served but survived to marry Ethel Powell in Northwich in 1924. Sister Annie, born in 1900, married Arthur Clough in 1940. He died in 1956 and Annie as a widow lived in Little Leys in Hall Lane.
