This photo came from Margaret Gittins's collection via her son Roger. Presumably related to Mobberley and looks to be quite old.
To commemorate the centenrary of Scouting, in 2008 Viv Pike produced a 40-page booklet documenting as much as could be remembered and sourced covering the history of Scouting and Guiding in Mobberley. In 1987 Teddy Morton died. He lived at Dukinfield Hall and allowed the Scouts to meet in a hut on his land. The need to move led to a controversy in the village involving the Parish Council and the residents of Hall Bank where a decrepit Guide Hut was located on land covenanted by Manchester University. Eventually permission was granted, funds were raised, the old hut was demolished and a new hut built and opened in 1991. Below are a range of newspaper cuttings and some photos of the opening ceremony
